Scientific facilities at ElySe (UAM)
We provide a wide range of Services
At ElySe we are open to colaborate…

Epitaxy
A Ultra-high vacuum chemical beam epitaxy (CBE) system designed for the manufacture of a wide variety of III-V compound semiconductors, including GaP1-x-yAsyNx alloys under UHV, working with gaseous precursors.

Structural Characterization
For the structural analysis of the fabricated structures, the laboratory is equipped with a high-resolution X-ray diffractometer (HRXRD).

Morphological Characterization
The morphological properties of the samples can be analyzed by using two optical microscopes and two scanning electron microscopes (SEM).

Optical Characterization
For the optical characterization of the samples, available in the laboratory is a system for both photoreflectance (PR), photoluminescence (PL) and surface photovoltage (SPV) spectroscopies, as well as a spectrophotometer and a spectroscopic ellipsometer (SE).

Electrical and Optoelectronic Characterization
The electrical and optoelectronic properties of the samples can be analyzed by Hall effect, spreading resistance profiler, C-V and I-V measurements (in dark and under illumination using a solar simulator), and deep-level transient spectroscopy.

Device Processing
For the processing of the samples into final devices, there is a photolithography system, two thermal evaporators, one electron-beam evaporator, different furnaces for thermal annealing processes (slow and fast), a system of reactive-ion etching, an ion implanter, and a micro-welder.
ElySe is adscribed to
CMAM is a research center belonging to the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) whose main experimental tool is an electrostatic ion accelerator with a maximum terminal voltage of 5 MV, devoted to the analysis and modification of materials.
ElySe takes part in COST Action OPERA
The COST Action “European Network for Innovative and Advanced Epitaxy”, named OPERA, will build a new and innovative European Network composed of expert communities in epitaxial growth focusing on different materials classes: conventional semiconductors, oxides and 2D materials.
